What is a Programme council?

Each programme has a programme council that acts as an advisory body to the Head of programme on matters concerning the development of the programme and its associated master’s programmes. The Programme council discusses the interaction between the programme’s courses and whether each course builds on knowledge from previous courses. It also discusses the connection between courses and future professional life, the programme’s finances, and other current strategic educational issues.

The Programme council consists of the Head of Programme, two-three teacher representatives, one doctoral student, one-two administrators, two-four industry representatives, and at least two student representatives.

What do Programme council representatives do?

Programme council representatives participate in the council and highlight the student perspective in the issues discussed. This may include, for example:

  • Students’ views on the structure of the programme
  • Whether the programme’s learning outcomes align with the courses offered
  • The study environment within the programme
  • Opinions on the overall coherence of the programme and its associated master’s programmes

The representatives maintain regular contact with the student division board and Educational committee to ensure they represent students’ views and to report back on discussions held in the Programme council.

How do I contact them?

The easiest way to convey your opinions is through the student division’s Educational committee or student division board. If you want to contact them directly, you can ask your student division board which representatives are appointed for the academic year.
